Happy holidays!

I hope everyone had an amazing time over the holidays. I know we all feel the stress of our jaws all year around but at least during Christmas and New Years we get to forget just a little bit. For the people who are in recovery, you are all such strong amazing people and you truly truly inspire me!

I still have six weeks until any adjustments happen, becoming SUPER inpatient, but trying my best to keep that positive attitude I see in all my blogger pals :) as you can see.. it is very hard to smile with these giant metal things in your mouth and still look decent

Home for New years

I cant believe how much my teeth have changed in just under two months

  2. Hi Cassie, I think you should give smiling-with-braces a go....you're a gorgeous girl.
I was someone who always hated people seeing me from the side, who always looked first at my crooked teeth in photos, and was aghast at pics of me laughing really hard - cause I showed lots of gum. They were large contributing factors to my decision to have surgery. And now - after first surgery & braces for six months - I no longer put my hand to my face to hide my side profile even though it is yet to be 'fixed'.. My first surgery involved widening my top jaw which over time created about a 7mm gap between my front teeth & even then (when I looked like a real hillbilly) I smiled. I think it's because I know this is only temporary & I am not going to let anyone stop me from being happy & showing it. If someone judges me because of my bracey smile then that is their problem. Smile every chance you get!

It is so nice to know that there are people out there who understand exactly what you are going through and exactly how you feel. I think you are gorgeous and I cant wait to see us when we are all finished with our recovery :) Keep on smiling and I will do the same
